All the head studs except GTIR come under the same part number.

VE engines use different main cap studs.
Did you miss this, or do I fail at reading comprehension 101?

Yah that can be a bit confusing. I'll explain what that guy said.

Yes LANCESR20, I agree that Nismo makes strong hardware. Their main cap bolts used as original equipment on the GTi-R are a known good upgrade for all the other engines. I will be using them on my build.

As a side note, all of the head bolts for the SR20 engines are all the same except the GTi-R bolts. They all have the same part number. So that answers one of your questions. No the regular SR20DET bolts are not an upgrade. They are the same. (The GTi-R head bolts are 12mm in diameter where all the rest are 11mm. Don't even think about using the GTi-R head bolts on another block for that reason.)

Back to the off topic main bolt talk. SR20VE engines use different main cap bolts (they are shorter because there is no girdle) so if you're following the off topic main bolt talk, don't try to use those as an upgrade if you have a girdle.

Yah, completely confusing. You're right. I guess I just have this ability to decipher cryptic Nissan forum drivel. My bad.

I'm racking them up lately.

I placed a call to The Progress Group to order a new end link for my anti-sway bar (I ruined mine).
The woman who takes my call is cheerful, helpful and seems to know her stuff. She asks me which parts of the end link I need because if I don't need them all it would save me money and her a lot of time in looking up the parts. I tell her I only need the two pieces with "spherical joints". She asks to clarify "so you just need the two hymen joints?". I know she means so say "heim" so I don't correct her embarrassing mistake and without skipping a beat I say "Yes, that's what I need.". :D

11/12... Autech needs a lesson in making less assumptions and being way way more clear. Sounds like you read right through his statement and inferred everything thus not even noticing what it was saying to a non sr20-geek.
...and an initiative in Madrid, Spain, to implement masturbation workshops to decrease the number of sexually active young people.
ROFL, that's a good one...

Can I listen to your show streaming?

Wow, 62/38% Weight dist? Good lord. :-)

Curious, you mentioned big gains on engine management alone - what are the before/after numbers with the VEMS?

I believe so but I'll have to ask my brother where you need to go to listen.

I assume you're talking about my car. =]
Yeah, I don't know what to say. I can't defend it.

Sadly, I do not have a "before" dyno. However, the stock output of my engine is well known for what ever that's worth. This thread will probably be of most interest to you: http://www.sr20-forum.com/all-motor/706 ... ement.html
Your exact question is raised in post #44 and I don't have a good answer for it other than what I respond with in post #46.

That is actually worse than my ute! LOL. Still, I'll defend it for you, because the weight is over the driven wheels they end up fairly balanced, the only significant downside if setup correctly is that the front tyres work MUCH harder and therefore get hotter and can overheat more easily when pushed hard. As a further consequence they are surprisingly good off the line in a straight line. Lindsay's Levin could out drag my skyline wet or dry with a front heavy fwd setup, lighter weight and slightly more power. That car was very difficult to do a burnout in, it just wanted to take off like crazy.

It appears that NZ is about to become a lot less attractive to me.

This is vastly better than the first version they wanted. At least now you can come along and say "someone cracked my WEP wireless, I've since upgraded to WPA and noticed reduced traffic usage" or something to the tribunal. Before it was shoot first, ask questions later. Still, no net filtering like damn near every other country.
