Done and on top of all of those things, I flushed out the brake fluid through both front calipers! I should whip the back wheels off and bleed the rear cylinders/lines, too, but not today! 3 hours spent on her today :-)

EDIT: And when I pulled the cap off of the radiator it had brown sludge on it! I thought for sure the head gasket was gone, but then I touched it, and it appeared to be dust-air bubbles and was instantly soluble! Definitely not oil. How weird. Didn't nab a photo, but it looked pretty ugly in a minor sort of way.

On with the panels/rust/rust-proofing/etc! Then reassembly of the front end and off to the back to take care of the roof corner, somehow. May involve a professional to help with that, or not.

Rolled it forward, jacked it up, pulled off the rear wheels, and bled both sides through. All nice and clean now.

Looks like a 280mm rotor is about max with those big calipers inside that little 15x6 feather-weight Honda wheel.

Need to suss out the caliper mounting and an appropriate disk for it. 260-280x30 likely means I'll be using a blank and alloy hat. Or I could find some ordinary FC or FD ones that take 22mm disks to keep the weight down? AP do a 267x28 blank, or in the 280mm diameter it goes up to 25.4mm thick. Maybe I should find some 22mm calipers instead and save the big mitsu ones for something else. It'll depend on how the caliper can be mounted as to which diameter is most suitable. The above shot only shows the maximum outside placement of the caliper within the wheel, and not what it might attach to on the vehicle.

Once I know the disk arrangement then I can get some quality spacers/adaptors made up to mount the wheels and get some decent rubber under it.

Which will mean some sort of lowering job, or it'll look silly. Which will mean I put some thought into front-end suspension geometry and components. My how it snow-balls! :-)

Bought a bonnet and hatch for this thing, both without any rust, unlike mine.

My bonnet has rusty reinforcement structure, which I'm dubious about passing a WOF with. I'll likely swap on the new one for WOF then the rusty one for driving with the colour match.

My hatch is mostly good, but has some bubbling under the seal that would require dealing with eventually. For WOF purposes I'll just peel them back and scrape out the rust so they sit down normally.

Longer term I'll use one of each for making some ultra light-weight carbon replacement parts. Maybe. :-p

Bought these for the old girl, not super low, just lower, and they're on stilts stock.









Should sit nicely, I think. Says 25-30 or 25-40mm drop, and that's roughly half of the gap
between tyre and arch at the moment, which will change the look significantly and probably
make it corner a bit flatter, too, assuming they're also stiffer. Stock was a wee bit soft... :-)

Unburied this thing last night and gave it a run and a full tstat-open warm up. Tonight I'll do the same for the BMW and try to put some of the panels back on this thing. Needs to look respectable for various reasons. Keen to make some progress on it again. Miss driving it.

Three hours later here we are and the KP60 is safe and dry in a new different garage, and the BMTroubleYou is in its place. TroubleYou for a reason. See other thread...

Agreed on and paid for half a Toyota Carib today/the other day. Pick up on Sunday morning :-)

Why? Panels for slackercam and the 7AFE engine and possibly the diff/rear suspension (if it's IRS) for me/this.

Anyway, 100 bucks is worth it for the options it provides :-)
