pishta, In the 0.6-alpha and newer PCBs the naming of the solder pads has changed to better match up for their intended purpose. In this case "OUTPUT-12v" has been replaced with "IGN-12v" to indicate that it is a switched 12v input from the ignition switch.
wasted long weekend from hell... sick from a spider bite... and my freescale map sensor is dead! It just outputs about 4.5v constant. Input 5v and ground seem fine. The AAP is fine. Can't understand it last changes I made were the 12V-OUTPUT and ground as discussed above, and that works. And I had the patch wires so nice. Gonna be a bitch to replace.
Yes, use an OEM sensor like the honda/toyota ones and just wire it in. Cheap, reliable, effective. Look for one we have the config for unless you want to fully test it yourself.
1) Connect in and out for the CPU TX line
2) Connect in and out or the CPU RX line
3) Connect the grounds together, or you'll get nothing useful.
But I'd say that because it's putting something out, you've just got some solder or flux or piece of wire or something corrupting that signal line on the output.
Did you look for successful sent packets from the PC to the CPU?
So when I removed the isolator, one of the legs fell off. I bridged TX, RX and ground (not the 5v). Now I can can connect with emstudio but seemingly only with windows!
More investgation reveals that it is not windows, but newer hardware. Booted mint live on the windows machine and it sees the ft232.
On older hardware xp reports an error and older linux debian get various errors. Newer kernels ignore it completely.
The only diff I can see is the usb voltage is fractionally higher 5.03 vs 5.00.
There is bizarre behavior. If I power up the board TX and RX flash frantically until I plug in the usb then only TX flashes with newer hardware. On older hardware both lights stop. If I don't plug in a usb at some random interval > 20 secs both lights will stop. The lizard mothership is pointing its quantum probablility modifier ray gun at me again. Desperately looking for something to try before replacing the ft232rl.
