Well I think first and foremost we need to loose the distributor. I'm thinking the logic level GM LS1 COPs, since I hear they are good and I have some laying around. For crank position I'm open to suggestions. If the decoder for 36-1 is stable to like 6000 rpm, I was thinking it would be smart to buy one of those wheels from diy autotune. I have a Ford VR sensor I could use with it. Beyond this I would only need a MAP sensor correct?
Later I might acquire a 22RE intake manifold and add batch injection.
LS coils are good, and mostly, they're convenient. With a crank wheel you will be firing them twice as often as normal, but that's OK too. I'd still recommend a robust driver to push 5V out to them, in the style of Jaguar/RavAGE.
Beware of DIYAutoTune wheels, some of them are SHIT. Also, the wheel you use should match your VR sensor tooth size wise.
Sensor wise, you need:
RPM, MAP, IAT, CHT, and you'll definitely want TPS and WB02
For ignition only you can get away with RPM + MAP as I currently do on the hotel.
+1 to the staged approach, ignition first, fuel injection later. By batch I hope you mean semi-sequential.
Well in a moment of true genious I soldered the USB connector onto the wrong side of my USBDM (backwards). Plugged it in and it shut down my computer. Computer rebooted OK Does anyone know for sure if the IC's were fried by this?
No particular recommendations, but you should match the dimensions of the original. Gutted about the BDM, I have no idea if it's fried or not. Good luck!
Good news on the BDM! I would use Linux to do the loading via BDM. It's been reliable for me once I got it working at all. On the EEE I have a script to make it work. It adjusts the virtual view port so the window is created big enough. Otherwise you can't get to the buttons on the thing...
What is your intention re hardware? Print an existing design? TA + circuits? Do your own design? I can advise after I know what you are intending to do.
