Only once did the interrogation complete. Ever since then any attempt has failed and there is no live data. CEL LED keeps blinking merrily on.
Sounds like some sort of communications error. Can you send me your debug logs? Upload them to dropbox, or email them (malcom2073@gmail.com) They should be in your home folder (C:\Users\yourname\EMStudio\applogs), just send me everything in that folder?

What hash are you using? Are you using the latest "dev" from the build server? You should be using 12f3153a05d67d00b0086ecf553699bb8d8f2920, which is currently listed under dev on the build server.

IIRC = If I Recall Correctly

Yes, the analogues should work correctly, BUT, they are read very slowly by default. They are read much faster once the engine is running. This is a flaw that I intend to fix ASAP (in a few months). Both accurate readings and slow updates are true of all firmware types. Bench test just lets you output on the timer channels which other firmware types require an input signal to achieve.

I just Googled PEBKAC and IIRC expecting some highly technical thing. I think PEBKAC is the most likely cause of my issues. I'm out of my element here.

Acronyms suck!

Mike,
I just e-mailed you the contents of the log folder, all 6 MB of it.

Sorry, but I have no idea of what "hash " is or how I can get the latest version of your software. I'm afraid that someone is going to have to guide me through this one.

Robert,

Is there nothing in the applogs folder? It looks like you sent me the logs folder instead.

As for the latest version, you can download the latest version from my build server at http://mikesshop.net/EMStudio/, you want the dev 64bit build: http://platypus.7g.fi/EMStudio/EMStudio ... -31-45.exe

IIRC=If I recall correctly...IIRC;-)

Robert did you get yours assembled? Whats the minimum I need for USBDM, just the protection caps 1-11 and the MCU?? I already installed the FTDI SMD chip because I was itching to do something. I flowed it off a USB-TTL chip I bought for 3 bucks shipped on Ebay. Thats all I got so far mounted

Mike,
Things are getting interesting again.

I looked everywhere for the applogs folder but could not find one. Then I downloaded and installed your latest version (thanks so much for the direct link). I opened your program and immediately things were different. It launched into the interrogation right away. It did find an error but kept going and reported data. The other interesting thing is that now I have an applogs folder where you said it should be. It only contains data since the upgrade.

I'm going to play with it some more. Any requests?

Pishta,
Sorry, I can't really tell you what you need, but I updated my "Robert's build" thread if that does you any good.

Mike,
I've done several communication cycles with Jaguar. Big improvement over the earlier version. Interrogation begins right away. Sometimes errors are found but the interrogation (almost) always completes and data is being sent and received. We still have problems but they are getting less dramatic. What information would you like from me?

Fred,
I'm using the MPXA6115AC6U pressure sensor for both AAP and MAP. MAP is reporting ~ AAP x 2, so I'm assuming that the look up table for MAP is for the MPXA4250AC6U. The value reported by AAP (99.64) is quite close to what the local weather station and my aneroid barometer report (101.7). Both respond the way I would expect when I apply vacuum. The clocks are ticking and some values jiggle around, so it looks like the firm ware is doing what it is supposed to do.

I think I'm ready to connect some I/Os and download some different firmware for testing on the simulator. What S19 and what pin outs should I use?

Also, this has probably progressed beyond the "assembly" thread realm. Should I continue it on to "Robert's Build" or someplace else?

In future, with any report of issues, paste the Git hash out of the about window so we know what you're using, exactly.

Great to hear you making progress, though. Good work.

Fred.

EDIT, another post already:

Yep, correct re MAP. Ignore that for now.

Re your stim, it's hard to say as the current double edge decoder requires an exact angle. If your stim has exact angles that match your car, then we can add a decoder for you.

The build thread was for exactly that, building the ***** thing ;-) Post the pictures of it there for the enjoyment of others. This is supposed to be a community spirited project. Sharing is caring :-)

Post one topic at a time. Post that topic in the right section (user support thread with an appropriate title in many cases). EMStudio questions in his section if you prefer. Jaguar questions in titled threads here, etc.
