Guess! :-) Yes, I'm serious. Take a look at the existing curves to get an idea. Basically you want "not much" at low rpm ramping up to "full" at some medium rpm and staying at "full" till redline. this is at full 100kpa load. Then at lower loads you want even more, but following the same basic shape. The hotel curve is tuned from scratch between preston and I internationally. I don't know the A series needs very well, so your best source of advice is other enthusiasts. The other thing is to put in a conservative map now, and then actually drive it and start pushing more timing in until you hear it rattle, you must know what pinging sounds like, right? if/when you hear that, note the rpm/load (WOT is probably all that matters for a start) and back some timing back out of those areas.

Not sure if you knew about this, but there has been a MS variant as direct replacement for the original rover ECU, called "ultimate mini squirt". Once you also have fuel injection running, these maps might be useful: http://www.mini-cooper-clubman.de/html/ ... files.html

ehb, I love those mini wagons! They look soooo sweet :-) I have a soft spot for all wagons, though, so I'm biased :-) I demand a thread in the users rides section with pics, however you're welcome to ignore my hollow threats of asking repeatedly ;-)

Re the above links, I didn't click, as I'm on the wife's android wifi for now, but MS VE maps are inclusive of AFR, so you need to account for that if you're using them for fuel.

If you do the curve in code make sure you use the IT() macro :-) Also, if you do it in code, attach MTX and take a screen shot? Or attach your axis and timing files to a post here? Or push them to a fork? If you do it using MTX you can save it to a file and should be able to reload from that file to a future version with some luck.

I am running a hot cam on my engine so I was pretty sure that I could not use a MAP sensor.

I connected up my vacuum gauge to my manifold and found that the needle jumped around all over the place.

Just to confirm my results I connected up the puma boards MAP sensor and got the same sort of readings from MT

I guess my next best option will be Alpha-N

I am going to now build a bracket for my throttle position sensor and I guess that I will need to find an air temp sensor.
