JHC, you can almost make a DIY 3D printer for that! This should be Fred's next project... http://www.instructables.com/id/Make-a- ... led-parts/or just buy this... http://www.mpja.com/350in-X-137in-X-118 ... 6283%20BX/

I think you will find the box you just suggested is too small inside to fit the pcb. There are larger ones available of course. Cheap on Aliexpress or Ebay Jeremy

Are there any plans to make 4.2 edition open? I know the source code is still available at your website, but I am wondering if you would be willing to ask questions on the code / add more comments into the code?

What acceptable alternative to the CY8C24423A-24PXI is there?
In my travels for that chip, I'm reading on sites to source that chip that is No Longer Available?

The 28-pin DIP (through-hole) -24PXI is definitely "End of Life"; Digikey has 46 and won't order them past the 6th of July. Mouser has >1000 on the shelf, so there's still time to order some in.
The 28-pin SOIC (SMT) -24SXI is apparently still going strong, and is the easiest of the SMT IC packages to hand-solder. The 28-SSOP -PVXI is also still in production, and can also be hand-soldered (with a little more care).
If you are working with a pre-designed board that uses the DIP package, SOIC-to-DIP adaptors are readily available.
