Thanks John! :-) <3

Two alternate layouts for this, base board doesn't have it and is designed for the case.

johntramp wrote:[*] Move the MCU silkscreen so it doesn't cover the pads
When the board is fabricated, the manufacturer's equipment doesn't print the silkscreen on the pads. However the corners are printed and that shows the person installing the ICs when each IC is aligned properly.
johntramp wrote:[*] Move SMD pin #1 markings to outside the component's footprint so they are visible after assembly
Due to the tight fit of the components, the U* designations act as the pin#1 markings for the SMD ICs.
johntramp wrote:[*] Place vias through to the back ground plane by the MCU gnd pins
I have that on my other designs and from the many changes to this board I must have missed connecting the ground pad under the MCU to the ground plane on the back. I will add these in before the next review. :-)
johntramp wrote:[*] Only really an aesthetic point, but I typically place components to a 20mil grid so they line up nicely
Due to the compact size of the PCB and the fact that I have squeezed SO many TH components on it, I have tried to keep things lined up the best I could and still have the component IDs visible for assembly relatively close to the components.
johntramp wrote:[*] Power_S1 running a long way around the board looks like it could be a bit thin (I haven't looked at the datasheet so it's likely this is okay)
That trace is feeding +12v to the Injector and LSD LEDs, so there is very little current being drawn so it didn't need to be a wide trace.
johntramp wrote:[*] There's an odd trace on the 5vdc-analogue trace on the bottom right of the back layer
Can you elaborate more on this as I don't understand what the question may or may not be? :-/
johntramp wrote:[*] Do you want pcb mounting holes?
No mounting holes on this board design, it was designed to fit in a specific case, I will be releasing additional board designs that include mounting holes and possibly other features.
johntramp wrote:[*] You may like to drop the track width before the pads on some of the fat traces to avoid having to put too much heat into the components - eg 5vdc_analogue into Q12
The traces are sized to carry the required current. The trace you reference is going to the 5V Analog protection circuit and it has to survive a direct short to ground until F1 trips.
johntramp wrote:Nice work, it looks like it should be a solid platform.
Thanks, I'm really proud of this design, I still have the previous version, the 0.4-alpha, in my S10.

Thanks for analysing those, Andy! :-) Your explanations seem sound, too, cool!

Cheers Andy, here's the trace trace highlighted in green

As of commit d0f03a25c421ae215904f522d3bcc4eb06568d89, the weird 5v-analog trace johntramp found has been corrected.

Thanks for finding that one! :)

Edit: Ahh, forget what I said. I got the schematic mixed up. It seems the dev branch is the latest and not the other way around. Oops.

Dan, please use del tags, or self quote, or size = 50, and leave your post content when editing out a mistake like that. Cheers :-)

EDIT: This caused quite some confusion with me telling Andy "why didn't you respond to comment yet" and him not knowing wtf i was talking about ;-)

I have ordered the first batch of 10 Jaguar 0.6-alpha boards today so that we can review them before ordering additional boards. :)
