^ Thread has been up for some time, and is here: viewtopic.php?f=55&t=2610

Over the weekend I drove #34, too. Nice little car, goes pretty well. I don't fit properly in it, though :-D Probably need a thread for that one at some point, doesn't exist just yet.

I don't know of anyone close right now. Not even me. I would personally like to nab 40th. And with how much I need to do before I can FreeEMS the 740, there's ample opportunity to help me achieve that in the mean time! So, who's it going to be, then?

I've changed my mind, I just saw a highly suspicious thread that could be a candidate for 39th place, here's a link: viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2651

Me, it was me! Who next? Me again? Ned? I want 40! But I also want to see Ned come through with the goods :-D

Volvo could be legal next weekend if I work hard this weekend and next week... :-) What then? EFI could be next. Drum roll :-D

At the rate I'm going, m2cupcar will be next with the GRM race car! :-( I would still like to predict myself, but I have no time frame, so it's anyone's at the moment. I will just sulk a little and then move on if it's not me :-D

OK, the race is on.

Sometime on Saturday yankee/rebel time, the GRM car is likely to
run. My mission is in the next 4 days (including today, morning here)
to run one of the three Volvos I have and claim 40th for a 240 or 740.

It'd be wrong not to try. :-p

I have other things to achieve in that time frame, too. Nothing like a
bit of international competition to light the fire under your arse/ass
(poor donkey!). So by Saturday night I need to succeed, or I've failed.

If I fail, then I'll probably stop trying due to other priorities, which will leave 41 free, and 42 for someone lucky after 41.

I hope 42 is suitably awesome. ;-)

Setbacks, plenty of those, yes. :-( Progress, some of that, too. :-)

Coil/ignitor combo pinout and wiring is known. Signal style is not, but is highly likely to be darlington style.

Crank wheel is 22-1 times two/44-1-1, ie, dizzy mode 22-1, and required reverse polarity VR wiring to function correctly due to being "missing hole" style. Here's a diagram:

I lost, Rob/Steve won, around 6am my time :-) I expect we'll see a thread soonish. They're busy boys right now, though.

List updated, graph updated. Just need the thread now :-)

New goal 240 should be 042, but I'll settle for 041 :-D

Turns out 041 went a few days back to another Dodge Neon the owner of which I'll allow you to guess. Hopefully he puts up a thread at some point :-)

I guess this should be suitable motivation to do 042 on a 240, but the bad 240 got worse, and the good 240 needs other love right now.

On the other hand, the good 240 is an easy target as long as I can tolerate keeping the RPMs low. No new code,
everything works, etc. Would just need to find both ECUs, and convert to wasted spark, and I'd be home free.

42 went a little while ago, but I have a fair guess who's next, and it's indicated by the colour of my finger nails. Yawn, bed time!
