The team members were united last night, however today once again we have parted company. In fact, two of us are now on a bus. A bus. Yesterday a plane. Now a bus. In 3.5 hours? Then what? Only time and twitter will know :-)

Today was a busy day! Didn't nail everything, but still have time to sort some last minute details in the morning. Gotta leave around 8am. Up 6 or 7 am, hopefully solder a connector or two onto the 6 wires in the cabin that are fully wired up. Signal is good. Just need to load firmware, configure hardware, connect connectors and dial in timing. Smashed tired. Don't yet want to give in. Must be done.

Thanks for doing that, Jeff! Most appreciated.

Only squeezed in a six hour day today, and am still shattered and looking forward to an early night. Did a little bit of unloading, but still have more to do... Busy night tomorrow night...

After the car is cleared and unloaded this thread can continue with a link to 39, but not until then. Exhaust will need fixing, too. And a replacement tyre fitted.

A few little updates from earlier...

1) Log from running engine showing the clean legacy RPM signal (new RPM was not configured)

2) Screen captures from the o-scope we had on the trigger signal prior to hooking it to the FreeEMS box

Another little partial update, distance covered.

250090 - 248482 = 1608km = 999.164877117633 miles

This consists of three main parts:
  • Oamaru to Christchurch
  • Around Christchurch
  • Christchurch to Auckland (Via Picton and Wellington and a ferry ride)
In addition there was meeting point to seller's house, and seller's house to gas station via Volvo lady, at the start. And from my place to gas station once the exhaust is fixed.

I won't be able to distinguish the first two from each other as we only filled up when leaving Christchurch.

The last leg was taken over by Corbon at Taupo and then back to me a couple of km shy of my place for a final quiet entry.

What I will be able to do is itemise and locate fillups and fuel quantities and costs.

Not sure if I grabbed the dash at Picton or Wellington, but it's not too important anyway.

One thing is for sure, it doesn't burn much fuel!

Broken exhaust flange: https://twitter.com/FredCookeNZ/status/ ... 7260491777
Copper make shift loop: https://twitter.com/FredCookeNZ/status/ ... 3053961216

Many thanks to the nice bloke somewhere half way down the north island! :-)

Tomorrow, welding, trip to gas station, stats on fuel and distance, and lift the 4age out so I can enjoy using the POS :-D

Maybe even a new thread and an update to the garage!
