This thread is to document what we know about these critters. They're a nice little bit of gear in a simple kinda way. One post per idea, one idea per post, no comments, start a new thread for that. Each post can be edited to update it with what appears in other places. Let this be the ground for Saleae knowledge to come together.
Fred.

Firstly: If you do not have USB power applied, the inputs all clamp to ground. This can and will catch out the unsuspecting user! Beware!

There are cheap Chinese clones for 20 or 30 USD, search them out yourself.

http://brrrbaybay.com/index.php/pwm-logic/aboutPwmLogic is an 8 channel PC based PWM generator, which uses the Saleae 'Logic' USB device for its outputs. It focuses on both ease-of-use and flexibility.

Re: Saleae Logic - Tips and Tricks
I learned an important lesson about the Saleae LA tonight. I was doing some CAN development, so I had a 12V power supply hooked up running a device. I almost tipped my drink over, and in the proceeding mayhem the LA must have gotten some 12v. Now while I would expect my dumbassery to ruin the LA, I didn't expect it to overload the computer's power supply and make it reset. Upon turning the computer back on it doesn't seem to have any power on the left side of the board. So I lost 4 USB ports (half), the on board audio card, and probably some other things that I've never used. The lesson: Don't hook a Saleae up to a computer you care about. So I guess I'll be buying a new LA, and an old crappy computer to use it with. Oh wait, this 3.5GHz, 8 core, 32 GB of DDR3, stroke victim, will work perfectly!
Edit: My usb wifi stick is now down, unsure if it's related.
