0.6-alpha Batch Of 10 List, Second Batch/0.7 List Too

Post by Fred »

We have a few constraints on us at the moment so I'm going to attempt to sort out who gets what.

There will be an order in the next few days or so for just 10 boards to prove them out. These boards are of unknown calibre with quite a few changes made. They should mostly work, but come with some risk.

If these test well, there will be another larger order done to fill current demand. These should be low risk even if minor changes are made from the 0.6 and they are not identical. If major changes are required, a further 10 will be ordered to prove it out. Wash rinse repeat.

Firstly, full list of those who signed up in the feeler thread with notes:
  1. DeuceEFI 1 of 2 - built for vehicle
  2. DeuceEFI 2 of 2 - blank for reference/spare
  3. Fred 1 - blank for review/reference
  4. Eric 1 - blank + parts PAID urgent
  5. johntramp 1 - has puma and bdm
  6. E4ODnut 1 of 2 - blank + bdm + bom - has desire to hack and multiple ms1 engines
  7. masterkorp 1 - has unused fully built 0.4
  8. molak 1 - SMD only
  9. Dan 1 - blank, doesn't need it
  10. walinsky 1 of 2 - has epic e30 NOT URGENT
  11. Gslender 1 of 2 - SMD only for mx5
  12. Gslender 2 of 2 - SMD only for "spare"
  13. JareeB 1 - requires fully built, lowers priority
  14. JaniM 1 - smd only
  15. the.laughing.man 1
  16. em_knaps 1 of 2 - guaranteed to make good use of it
  17. Jack Biscuit 1
  18. Fred 1 - blank + BOM, covered by generous friend! Not urgent, at all, second batch.
  19. Josh 1 - SMD only, urgent
  20. em_knaps 2 of 2 - guaranteed to make good use of it
  21. walinsky 2 of 2 NOT URGENT
  22. Aero 1 - SMD only, has DSM with VGT Holset
  23. DanMoto 1 of 2 - Cheeky, but seems competent. Has ESD tester access NOT URGENT
  24. Matthijs 1 of 2 - has DIY setup in the build, but would likely make good use of it NOT URGENT
  25. DanMoto 2 of 2 - for reference? NOT URGENT
  26. Matthijs 2 of 2 - for reference? NOT URGENT
  27. sturovo 1 of 2 - NA/NB MX5s
  28. sturovo 1 of 2 - NA/NB MX5s
  29. Michael20 1 of 2 - Toyota 3sge
  30. Michael20 2 of 2 - Mazda
  31. pishta 1 - blank
  32. mikehudsonuk 1 - SMD only says urgent, smart guy :-p
  33. ohollmen 1 - SMD only, urgent, priority
  34. E4ODnut 2 of 2 - blank spare in case of damage
  35. Andreas 1 - blank only
First batch:
  1. DeuceEFI 1 of 2 - built for vehicle
  2. DeuceEFI 2 of 2 - blank for reference/spare
  3. Fred 1 - blank, for review/reference
  4. Dan 1 - blank, for review and possible use
  5. mikehudsonuk 1 - SMD only says urgent, smart guy :-p
These MUST have boards by early November. They can come out of first batch if necessary, or second if time. If second, then 5 from the following list can have 5 from the first batch. I hope these come from a second batch, but the first batch should be held until that can be confirmed.
  1. Eric 1 - blank + parts PAID urgent, absolute priority
  2. Josh 1 - SMD only, urgent, priority
  3. ohollmen 1 - SMD only, urgent, priority
  4. E4ODnut 1 of 2 - blank + bdm + bom - has desire to hack and multiple ms1 engines
  5. pishta 1 - blank some priority
First in first served, except those who opted out with "not urgent":
  1. johntramp 1 - has puma and bdm
  2. molak 1 - SMD only
  3. walinsky 1 of 2 - has epic e30 NOT URGENT
  4. Gslender 1 of 2 - SMD only for mx5
  5. Gslender 2 of 2 - SMD only for "spare"
  6. the.laughing.man 1
  7. em_knaps 1 of 2 - guaranteed to make good use of it
  8. Jack Biscuit 1
  9. Fred 1 - blank + BOM, covered by generous friend! Not urgent, at all, second batch.
  10. em_knaps 2 of 2 - guaranteed to make good use of it
  11. walinsky 2 of 2 NOT URGENT
  12. Aero 1 - SMD only, has DSM with VGT Holset
  13. sturovo 1 of 2 - NA/NB MX5s
  14. sturovo 1 of 2 - NA/NB MX5s
  15. Michael20 1 of 2 - Toyota 3sge
  16. Michael20 2 of 2 - Mazda
Low priority:
  1. E4ODnut 2 of 2 - blank spare in case of damage - best to wait for revised edition
  2. JaniM 1 - smd only NOT URGENT
  3. DanMoto 1 of 2 - Cheeky, but seems competent. Has ESD tester access NOT URGENT
  4. Matthijs 1 of 2 - has DIY setup in the build, but would likely make good use of it NOT URGENT
  5. DanMoto 2 of 2 - for reference? NOT URGENT
  6. Matthijs 2 of 2 - for reference? NOT URGENT
  7. malcom2073 1 - blank NOT URGENT
  8. Andreas 1 - blank needs to be moved
  9. JareeB 1 - requires fully built, lowers priority
  10. masterkorp 1 - has unused fully built 0.4
Total desire for 32, which means 8 spare, so blank price is (40 * 12) / 32 = $15 US - even if 8 more come along. This supports Andy who has done massive work to make this possible. And me too, I need not list what I've done.

Ok, I just checked the PCB cost and the shipping cost for various quantities of PCBs to my location and for now the price of each Jaguar bare PCB is $15 USD (plus shipping to your address) unless the shipping cost from China to the USA goes up again between now and the time I place the order for the PCBs.

Hopefully the last of the testing will be done this weekend so I can place the quantity 10 0.6-alpha PCB order on Monday, September 16 from the PCB manufacturer.

With "not urgent" I meant I would like to be on the "First in first served" list after the 1st batch of 10 was run.
Just didn't want to slow down development.

OK, so you want in on first 10 then, and are happy to take that risk? Or second batch only if first is good? Or third batch if second is bad? Or? :-) Will move you when I fully understand.

Can you put me on the list for a bare board? I can be in the third batch or wherever you want to put me. I have a future project that I need this for, but haven't started yet. ;)

Thanks!

Yes, but if you aren't planning to use it in the now, then you should just ask for whatever is current when you are ready to use it. Post again and I'll do as I'm told :-)

Yes, that's true. I just don't want to be left without one...which sometimes happens when you have smaller scale projects with one or two people doing a lot of the leg work...and $15 is not a big investment for me.

Andreas, OK, bottom of the list you go!

Dan, I had you at the bottom, then I thought "another set of eyes before the next lot get made would be good". ;-)
