Don't worry gixxer, it'll never be as like America as China is (and isn't! :-o)! :-)

I've been reading about a few big sites that have done it, and from a survival perspective, it made sense for them.

Our society has gone mad. Can you imagine the associated costs of proving what you have is legitimate? The tax money involved and the amount they would charge us for sharing a family photo via email etc? We have become a society of stupidity where we need to tell people coffee is hot and the big industries want to control everything. What have we become?

I don't know, but a friend joked about DDOSing the server if I did this, and sparked an email conversation that left me with a few tears in my eyes. The whole world needs a governmental overhaul.

SOPA and PIPA got stopped, and apparently that president that they have could still stop CISPA, let's all hope so.

My take on it is it's all about the money. The entertainment industry is way overpaid and so they have plenty of spare cash which they use to influence the laws. If we quit giving them so much money they couldnt do that. So why is it so many people watch and listen to American movies and music?

Because it's the largest single body of English speaking people in the world? England has to be second, and they knock out quite a lot of good TV/movies too. English content gets translated to other languages in bulk, such as here in Spain where *everything* is dubbed. The reverse is not really true for whatever reason, where only the cream gets done, and typically to a higher quality.

I agree with you, though. Just look at the farce happening in NZ with Kim Dotcom and our push over police :-(
