Marcos, you have EIGHT P&H drivers on this bloody thing, you can not use a plastic box, you have to get that heat OUT. Correct me if I'm wrong, but you'll make an oven out of that if you use it.

CA7, ROFL reading that shlt about ms3, very funny :-)

Here's the MFG of that enclosure, note the ends can have bent tabs, that work as mounting points.

These are the Megasquirt enclosures or damn close to it. Doesn't make it good or bad just amusing...

As for the Cinch enclosure, it is nice product and can be had with 2 heat sinks that come out on the bottom. These should be enough for 8 p&h drivers if you attach the case to an aluminum (aluminium?) plate. And it's sealed which gives more flexibility on where you can put the ECU.

However, it is not a very DIY-friendly box because you need specialized equipment to open and close the lid even though you can probably rig something to work around it. I considered using it for some of my products and still might but having a non-user serviceable unit is something to think about.

I'm a fan of the WS-4517, looks nice and reasonably low cost. However I don't think it will fit this board. I guess I should go look and see if we can make it fit with minimal mods.

On one hand, the MS style case is really a low cost DIY thing. Another thing to note, is that if it's the same case size, it can make for an easy swap. So even though I don't like them being close to the same like that, they do have some benefits.

There also has to be some other extruded cases out there.

One nice thing about the Context Engineering box is that you could anodized it and have the colour match your engine bay.

I like the look of a box that has a low profile but this will depend on the height of the board stack.

I don't like the look of the MS V3 because the height proportion looks wrong.

Re engine bay, I'd steer clear of putting an EMS in there, very few OEMs do it, and those that do cause headaches for places that fix cars. BMW sort of do, but give it a sealed chamber just like being inside the car.

Is my adjustment correct? I assume so, as V3 usually means the PCB and those are normal height. MS terminology is fcuked...

Fred you’re absolutely right.

I wasn't really thinking about the best place for it, but was thinking more about engine bay bling

I meant MS3. I could never understand their versions.
