As you can see, the forum is now on http://forum.diyefi.org and not http://www.diyefi.org/forum. This change should be transparent, other than being logged out due to cookie changes, as there is a redirect in place to translate old URLs to new ones. If you notice any issues, please let me know!

Additionally, if you see any links to the old /forum/ path, please let me know so I can fix them. Existing ordinary posts can stay as is, but stickies and important stuff and documentation etc should be fixed.

Re: Forum Migrated To Subdomain!
Hey there Fred, looks like you've been busy on a lot of things! What's the reason for migrating the forum to subdomain? You don't have to get into details, I'm thinking it must me useful/important or you wouldn't have done it.
Re: Forum Migrated To Subdomain!
It was easy to do, I always wanted it on a subdomain, if load ever gets too much, it could go on a dedicated machine more easily, etc, but you're right, the reason was, the main site is going to drupal, and I didn't want the two to have to interact/coexist. I think it's a cleaner layout too, subdomains are nice and provide a clean isolation between different subtasks. Also see http://tools.diyefi.org for another example.
Marcos just pointed out that the favicons or whatever you call them don't seem to work for him. They do for me, but that could be cached. I'll look into that now.

favicon.ico is now in place, that should fix your issue, Marcos.

Re: Forum Migrated To Subdomain!
Ahh. Thanks, Fred.
Favicon isn't working with the forum in Firefox. It does work on http://www.diyefi.org/ , but not http://forum.diyefi.org/ .

Re: Forum Migrated To Subdomain!
I've found FF very slow to update that... probably a heavy caching optimisation for a file that rarely changes.
favicon.ico
Try loading it directly and see if your tabs update?

Re: Forum Migrated To Subdomain!
Before, I was clearing the cache and reloading the page, just to be sure.
This last time I cleared the cache, clicked on the image link to get it into the cache, then looked at a few forum pages. Still no icon.
The page source for a forum page doesn't show the link to favicon in the
section, like it does on http://www.diyefi.org.
This is from the page source in http://www.diyefi.org:

Re: Forum Migrated To Subdomain!
I like the working 'View active topics' button!
Since you're messing around with the forum... I think I remember a neat little 'half carriage return' that appeared above the first paragraph of every post. If so, I think it's missing. It might be nice to have a full CR after the last line of a post too. Or does some permutation of
work?

Re: Forum Migrated To Subdomain!
OK, opened it in another browser and sure enough, it's not there. I'm unsure how to fix it, though.
