OPTO-22 solidstate relays for Ignition/Inj drivers?

Post by oughtsix »

Would these OPTO-22 ODC5 5-60VDC solid state relays work for Ignition / Fuel injector drivers?

The specs I think would be crucial are .1mS max turn on and .75mS max turn off times.

I am just trying to think of ways to get a prototype up and running without having to reinvent the wheel.

0.1ms is HUGE, so no, they wouldn't work well if at all :-)

That's about 1000 times slower than what you want for a good driver. Have a look at the discussion here http://www.diyefi.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=602.
