I will try and get the motronic schematic uploaded tonight to explain better. and yes it is on the ground side of the secondary.

OK here we go notice the 240R and the screened signal cable going back to the ECU which carries the voltage drop across the resistor when the spark current is flowing.

Hi Fred

I know you are a fan of the J121 but will the J722T be just as good. It has 2 coil drivers. Remember I don't care about a tach output.

What is it from? I'm a fan of the J701, mostly, but most of them are good, afaik. If it suits your needs, use it! :-)
