ok so can i replace a 10ma diode in a circuit with a 20ma diode?

the specs say use this
http://www.digikey.com/product-detail/e ... ND/1747609

i want to use the following instead
http://www.mouser.com/Search/ProductDet ... TL1CHKGKNN
the second one is brighter, bigger and can handle more ma current

is this acceptable it wont break anything will it??

Yes you should be able to replace it with the liteon LED.. the original one is actually also rated @20mA.
Dont know what the test current signifies, but it is not the maximum (peak) current (which is 140mA, not that anything above 20mA is useful).

ok! thanks muchly.

I decided against
http://www.mouser.com/Search/ProductDet ... TL1CHKGKNN
because it has clear Lens Color/Style: which is going to be EXTREMELY tough to identify which one is which until i light them up or they get lit up

I switch to this one instead
http://www.mouser.com/Search/ProductDet ... TL1CHJGTNN
which is green tinted plastic lens
