Customized Jaguar Board

Post by malcom2073 »

So my latest scheme...

Take a Jaguar design, (A4 likely?) and make it fit this form factor: http://www.techedge.com.au/vehicle/1227 ... 165ECM.jpg
With this connector on the end: http://elcodis.com/photos/31/74/317499/12110209.jpg

I have a detailed technical drawing of the connector/pins, and within a few days I should have detailed measurements of the boltholes/dimensions of that PCB board.

What will this do? It will let me run jumper wires from the Jaguar I/O, over to the connector breakout, drop the whole kit in a case, and have a plug and play system for my car.

Why not get the connector+breakout, wire it together and stuff it in the car you ask? I've done that, it's a rats nest and I have no real good way of securing either the Jag, or the connector breakout down other than electrical tape. It'd be nice to bolt it all up and in... and this would give me an excuse to FreeEMS my other Camaro, since this would be plug and play with that one.

A good of a reason as any. I like the idea of a new board based on the Jaguar, it could really help the hardware development overall. Things you learn could definitely feed back into the mainline board.
