Hello!

I'm from Sweden, and in my country its hard to find. And expensive to find the Freescale MC9S12XDP512 board.
But chipKit Max32 board is easily found and affordable.

My question is how hard is it to build the engine management system on the chipKit Max32 board instead?

Yes, but the cost is a bout 111 EUR. Just for the board.
The megasquirt MS1 V2.2 cost 130 EUR
http://www.protoparts.fi/catalog/produc ... cts_id=146

If a head to choose, I will go for the MS1.

But chipKit Max32 cost 56 EUR. http://www.electrokit.com/chipkit-max32.48945
And it´s a 32 bit board whit 80Mhz, 512K of flash, 128K of SRAM, 83 available I/O.
The only disadvance to the MC9S12XDP512 board i can see is that the chipKit Max32 is a 3,3 volt board.

Yes, I knew. But the Freescale MC9S12XDP512 board still cost a bouts 111 EUR.
The MS1 2.2v kit cost a bouts 130 EUR.

ChipKit Max32 board cost a bouts 56 EUR. It´s a 32 bit board with 80Mhz core, 512K Flash, 128K RAM and 83 available I/O.
The only disadvance i can see compered to Freescale MC9S12XDP512. Is that the chipKit Max32 board are a 3,3 volt board.

Fred wrote:Some of the many disadvantages that I can see compared to the MC9S12XDP512 are that the chipKit Max32 board is a 3.3 volt board, that there is no code available for that board, and that it isn't dual core, nor has the timer subsystems required for engine management use.
