Wire question - new here.

Hello, my name is George Graves.

I'm really interested in what you guys are up to. I not sure I can contribute too too much, but I love lurking and learning on this forum.

I make a automatic interior light delay dimming unit based on a dual op-amp circuit driving a mosfet with PWM. I've sold about 100 of them so far. I make them from scratch, starting with the toner transfer method making the PCB's.(that is getting a little old)

Anyways, I did have a question. I noticed the wiring that DIYautotune sells in very interesting. Where does one get wire with printing like that?

Anyways, maybe I can be a use down the road!

Email Jerry and ask him. He's a reasonable guy, explain what you want to do and see what he says :-)

There was a company in Auckland that I used to visit years ago that sold large cable, and sold it any colour you wanted, I believe they could also print it, but I'm not 100% on that. You might find that most wire specialist places can do that sort of thing for a fee.

And, welcome along! :-)

There are a number of places you can get it done.

Allied Wire and Cable for sure can do it.

I THINK Waytek can do it now, but I haven't had a response back from the regarding it.

It's not too costly to get the printing done per foot, but, your put up is in the thousands of feet per print.

Right now I'm pricing auotmotive GXL wire at a few different places, considering printing and or striping. Neither of which are particularly expensive but damn I have to buy a lot of wire to get all the different variations I need.

When I asked Jerry some time ago, he indicated to me that he gets them pre-cut from another source who buys them from the source. (I wanted 24 linear feet and he couldn't do it at the time)
