There are a few things wrong about LC1s (and cousins) and some awesome things about them, too. I have one, and don't regret it at all, however I'm not sure I'd get another. Back when it was popularised it was a clear best choice, not true anymore, there are other good brands too. Most of which don't give errors on perfectly good sensors as LC1s definitely do.
This thread is full of flames and horror and bullshit, but there are some good facts in it too, if you wade through the rest:
viewtopic.php?f=14&t=1033Huff, I don't believe in wideband inside the ECU. That doesn't mean that others don't, though, and they may integrate into their hardware designs. So might I, but I'd use one of Alan's products if I could, they're high performance and just excellent value.
Typical use is tuning time, and keeping an eye on boosted engines. On an NA engine I'd just use it for tuning, but on boosted you wanna keep an eye on that AFR. Closed loop can be done, but that pretty much says "my tune is shit, so I'm compensating for my poor skill" ;-)
