If you have a digital multi meter and a car or engine with a TPS: You can help with this!I'm looking to get a good cross section of TPS resistance values. By that I mean resistance from 5v connection to ground connection. Please post up make and model of car it was from and resistance value. The more the better and the greater the variety the better. I'd like to see at least a few from each of: - Nissan
- Toyota
- Mazda
- GM
- Ford
- BMW
- VW
- Honda
And anything else odd-ball that you have access to! Fred.

Are Factory Service Manual values useful to you, or do you insist on real measurements?

Make: Nissan Model: 1991-1994 Sentra SE-R (both manual and rare automatic transmissions) TPS resistance range: ~1 kΩ → ~10 kΩ Notes: This same TPS sensor is used on the 1991-1994 Sentra SE-R and NX2000 (SR20DE engine) and more than likely the same or almost identical design is used on all AWD, RWD and FWD SR20DE and SR20DET engines of all varieties from 1989 to 2001. Chassis codes with SR20 engines that probably use this TPS are B13, B14, B15, P10, P11, N14, S13, S14, and S15. (SR20VE and SR20VET engines are probably the same but maybe not.) FSM image: And because at first I thought you wanted the voltage sweeps. Here they are. (They are the same obviously.) Throttle position sensor voltage sweep for 1994 Nissan SR20DE (manual transmission). http://www.supercars.net/gallery/132464/1497/1011323.jpgThrottle position sensor voltage sweep for 1994 Nissan SR20DE (rare automatic transmission). http://www.supercars.net/gallery/132464/1497/1011324.jpg

Make: Nissan Model: 1994 300ZX (both manual and automatic transmissions) TPS resistance range: ~1 kΩ → ~9 kΩ Notes: This TPS is likely used throughout the production of the Z32 chassis from 1989 to 2000 with VG30DE or VG30DETT engines. The TPS also reports opening and closing speed. See image: http://www.supercars.net/gallery/132464/2730/1011339.jpgFSM image:

Make: Nissan Model: 1985-1989 Skyline Silhouette GTS1 and GTS2 TPS resistance range: N/A Notes: Throttle position is determined as "idle" and "WOT" with two switches only. Car chassis code is R31. Engine code is RB30E. FSM image:

Thanks Ben! :-)
I'm curious as to how they show rate through the same pins on the Z32. This isn't the thread for that, though, I guess. Another time :-)
The WOT and Idle switches aren't a TPS in my eyes. They have a different and distinct purpose and would be connected to a different pin for that reason. To clarify, I'm only interested in the resistance readings of variable TPS units. Switches don't count :-)
Keep up the good work!
Fred.

Switches don't count I figured. Just wanted to make sure, and maybe post one example to make sure we all remember they exist. Fred wrote: Keep up the good work! I'm gunna post up the data for the R33 Skyline. After that, do you think you'll need more Nissan stuff?

Taken from 4A-GE Manual. Doesnt state resistances though, only voltages. I will chase these up as well as some other toyota ones. But atleast its a start. . . .
