Provided they've read that, they are welcome to ignore my advice at their own risk :-)Aircraft
Because of the old adage "what goes up must come down" (and accelerating at a rate of 9.8m/s^2) it is unwise to use experimental DIY fuel injection systems of any kind on aircraft at all. I expressly recommend that you do NOT use any device from this site on something that flies. If you ignore this advice it is at YOUR own risk. For example, if you fit a FreeEMS to your Cessna and it fails because of a poor solder joint at 10000 feet and you plummet to the ground and end up one-legged, do NOT come knocking on my door asking why. In fact, if it fails because a developer forgot to check for divide by zero, you don't want to have the lives of your passengers on your conscience either, do you? 'nuff said.

haha! No, not a flight instructor. Used the term fly solo figuratively. I'm a consultant overseeing the implementation of some hospital record software.

eeem, if one's smart, he would use some kind of a limp-back-home backup EMS for those cases (preferably one that won't fail easily). I imagine it's always prudent to have a plan B for anything while in the air.
but we digress....

As far as aircraft go, generally I think they go for the "if one of everything is reasonably reliable, two of everything MUST be foolproof"
So two of everything that can fail!

The Space Shuttle program got it right: 4 of everything that have to agree for every action, and a 5th completely different controller to take over when the first 4 disagree.GartnerProspect wrote:As far as aircraft go, generally I think they go for the "if one of everything is reasonably reliable, two of everything MUST be foolproof"

Do you intend to make up a daughterboard that will plug straight into the 40-pin DIP socket, with a MC9S12XDP512 chip mounted on to it? That could be done cheaper than buying the Tech-Art board, as long as someone is capable of soldering on the 112 pin LQFP. Sounds like a good way to get going to me. For people who want more i/o a header could be mounted on the card. Just my 2c.GartnerProspect wrote:I'll gladly work on a DIY-EFI compatible processor module once the base design is done
