DO NOT END THIS PROJECT! You are better than that!

Chin up my kiwi friend!

I believe I am not the only person who thinks this, and as such, I too would like to see them comment here to show their support for FreeEMS and yourself please.

I have a hard time believing that you would let a small group of people bring an end to a project that you've dedicated four years of your life to. Take a couple weeks off, you'll feel better.

FreeEMS needs your leadership Fred. Don't let this small misguided insolent group discourage you. As Peter said, take some time off.

Fred needs a LONG break, plain and simple. Unfortunately the story told so far is very one sided, with closed off threads and kicked/blocked IRC users to silence any opposing viewpoints, so don't assume those no longer present in the group are a "group of fucking retards". There are those who mix well together, and those who do not. A project needs a BENEVOLENT leader, not a Hitler. This is a VOLUNTEER PROJECT, volunteers are not employees or slaves, it's improper to treat them as such. Perhaps after a long walkabout things may turn around, perhaps not.

Sounds almost as bad as an invitation only IRC.

Closed off thread (singular): viewtopic.php?f=11&t=1705
Kicked (not blocked) user (singular): preludelinux (for breaking two IRC rules, repeatedly; no manners)

However those rules were modified/instituted AFTER-wards in order to justify the previous actions that took place (signs of over-control issues :( ). As for closed off things, how about the issue tracker? I've been locked out of everything there, hence my abandonment of the issues.freeems.org tracker and putting up the official one related to the software I develop, where it's not under someone else's control/manipulation (it never should have been, but I was too busy previously to setup my own tracker.)

There's nothing wrong with an invite only channel, if you want to come in, ASK, it's mainly to keep the spammers out, and keep the discussions focused. It's no different than when someone calls someone else up on the phone and proceeds NOT to ask all his friends to join in on the call.

FALSE!!!
  • Date of IRC rules thread: Sun Apr 22, 2012 4:54 pm
  • Date of kicking prelude: Tues Apr 24, 2012 2:38 pm
how about the issue tracker?
FALSE!!!

No one is locked out. It is just read-only. Because:
  • Date of you stating you wouldn't use it: 2012-04-15 21:53 "This tracker will no longer be utilized effective immediately. "
  • Date of making Tunix issues read-only: Wed 18 Apr, 2012 3:44pm
it's mainly to keep the spammers out
FALSE!!!

We've had NO spammers in entire time #freeems* channels have been in operation, some 2 odd years, now.

Dave's password at the time "iwanttokickfred" typically immature, and indicative of the real reason it's invite-only. Don't worry, I don't want to join.

In Summary

Please just go away. You're impacting both my health and my productivity. I'm sure others will likely agree that they'd rather have me working on the project than dealing with your games. This shit is just a waste of time and the lies and defamation are not welcome. Use the forum productively, or don't use it at all. Consider this a formal warning.
