Last thing he said on the phone last night was "going out to get drunk". I assume he's fast asleep (730am there) and won't be up for quite a few more hours, and even then, will be hung over :-)

Not hung over, but it was a good night.

It has stalled due to codewarrior / hiwave pissing me off.

Should get it sorted today though :-)

Ok I have fitted all CPU and usb comma components and using my pe micro usb bdml I am getting weird crap very similar to Kennybug in his thread here

viewtopic.php?f=67&t=1753&hilit=unsecure

I have found my jag board and it works with it though.

Checked all circuit connections and and ic's for solder bridges etc but to no avail.

I believe the issue lies with using the 144 pin CPU instead of the 114 pin one on my jag? Anyone come across this before?

Also, seans freeEMS loader in windows is rooted, won't even connect to my known working jag! Will post on issue tracker when I get a chance tonight.

More from me in an hour or three :-)

Are you sure his loader is broken? It was working on Windows OK last time I checked. Did you check the FTDI settings? Do you have the FTDI driver installed? Or just the generic virtual comm port driver? Which version of his loader, please put a hash with any experiences like that.

On USBDM, newer chips have newer IDs in them that stop the app working OK until you update the file. Maybe the CW stuff is similar and needs an ID adding? Do you want me to give you a call?

I am thinking the loader may be broken, as I was able to talk to my Jag, before I erased it with the USB BDM Pe Micro tool with HiWave, with EMStudio.

But I haven't been able to get the loader to talk to my jag with the hacked sm loaded. I didn't try before erasing whatever was in it though. . . . hmm interesting.

I am thinking the chip ID is what is fucking me, no clue how to change it yet though :-P

The quest continues.....

I am also installing debian on my other laptop (Intel i5, solid state drives, etc) for dev purposes :-)

Please, refer to it as a "PE micro BDM", as that's what it is. USB is not part of the name, only the description.
