Great, looking forward to hearing how it goes! :-)

That sounds like an amusing board! Got any pictures of it coming together? I'm morbidly curious ;-)

Another teaser pic of the unfinished board. Need go get some 1206 resistors and smd pinheaders to finish this sucker:

Thanks Fred for lending out your mad photoshop skills to make this near photorealistic drawing about what might eventually happen ;).

If the engine runs after this experiment I will swap the "flaming" board to the CardS12 and try to run some FreeEMS with it...

And for those who are wondering why there is only one mosfet driver and four fets I didn't want to waste more parts for the proto. Will try this with crank only semi-seq + wasted spark.

Updated my blog about the board:

http://roller.baboonplanet.com/garage/e ... e_cards12x

Benchtested the A/D and seems to work, also fets and mosfet drivers work. Tried in car too but didn't have enough time to hook up properly. Just quick test to see that brick is giving a signal and it looks like a proper 60-2. Next time I'll make the final molex harness to connect the "onion" and maybe get the engine running. ;)

Very nice blog. I really like the technical details about the hardware. Seeing hardware prototypes are rather exciting.

Or maybe even a flamboyant onion ablaze?

Looks like the onionboard is working so far. Got the engine running today with freeems. Will try to get some real driving with it too to get it really "heated" up. Then we'll see if its a go or tow...

So, I might start ordering a small batch of them soonish.
