SkipUsername's Jaguar 0.7 alpha

Post by SkipUsername »

Getting back onto my Jaguar 0.7 build.
MY CAR
I managed to almost assemble my Jaguar board.
I might need some help with sensors etc.
Parts/sensors I think, should work OK with Jaguar:
Injectors - OEM 14.5 to 17.5 ohms
MAP - onboard
MAF - OEM should do fine
TPS - OEM should do fine
IAT - OEM should do fine
CHT - OEM should do fine

Parts to collect and mount:
Coilpack - Bosch 2x2 good for wasted spark?
O2 sensor: hard to choose for me atm. HELP? - viewtopic.php?f=9&t=1587
Crankshaft Postion Sensor: Hall Effect(36-1 trigger wheel mounted to front pulley). Shouldn't be hard to find.
Camshaft Position Sensor: Still looking for solution.

How's this going? I'm eager to see that BMW powered by a Jaguar.

Quite a few of us have used Alan's 14point7.com O2 sensors.

Jeff, thanks for bumping this!
SkipUsername, sorry! And thanks for your patience, hopefully.

MAF: Not used right now, in future, sure, any voltage based one will work fine, maybe even frequency at some point.
CHT: OEM is fine if you have or can create a calibration for it.
IAT: OEM often sucks. You need open element, and positioned for least heat-soak. MAT != IAT. MAT is near useless without a good model.
TPS, MAP and injectors, all fine.

Coils, most anything laminated will be suitable IF wired correctly. We've had a number of issues with poor coil wiring, including mine! Ignitors are best to match them, as sometimes one OEM's ignitor can not reliably drive another OEM's coil. However I mix and match and have little drama.

Wideband, read all of this, I'd recommend Alan's products, but you can make up your own mind: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=2267 I locked that ancient thread that you bumped. If you have a good reason to unlock, PM me about that.

Crankshaft sensor, sure, 36-1 is a good solution. We've recently spun 60-2 engines to 8500 without issue. A small trick is involved, and the latest code which you can get from me when you're nearly ready.

Camshaft sensor, not currently supported with missing tooth wheels, could be in future, don't worry about it, though. Not yet, anyway.
