Masterkorp's Jaguar 0.4 alpha build.

Post by masterkorp »

Hello,

I am finnaly about to step into the FreeEMS awesoness on my Nissan Patrol RB25det swap, for that I have a jaguar 0.4 that was been waiting for this day for a while.

First, beware I am a noob when it comes to EFI gasoline , so prepare to be bombarded with questions :P

I started to lay out a task list.
Full task list
Full task list
They are sorted by urgency, grey ones are block, blues need to be done to unblock them (some blue ones are also blocked by others, I still did made a theme for that).

To narrow them down to a first milestone I tagged them:

Updates comming soon.

Too much typing to comment on all of that, but how about this: You call me here at home over voip for cheap, we read through each item, and I explain it, you take detailed notes/transcript and publish it here afterward. Deal?

Hey fred,

This task just to show my ground, I pretend to be asking and researching each point one at the time, using my own pace, the task list is a way to get my bearings, I like to lay as much as I can so I can prioritize and move at a steady pace.

A chat would be great too, it must be at the weekend since we have such diferent timezones, if you can't I will try and schedule a good time.

Ok, lets start with the simplest of the questions, the MAP sensors

I am thinking on using then FreeSCALE MPXA66115AC6U Its seems to be the recomended one.
The price its accessible and it meets the boots requiriments of the first phase of the RB build.

Umm, that looks wrong for any boost at all. Freescale do 2.5bar, 4bar and crazy high stuff. With those you get 1.5 bar boost, 3 bar boost (1 bar of vac).

Coincidentally I've just been working with those. That one is fine for the AAP. For boosted MAP you want something like a MPXA4250AC6U which is what I used despite not planing to boost anytime soon.
Read up on the necessary trace cuts and patches before soldering those in.

Hello, so I got both, I want to go with with MPXA6115ACU first, cause its a direct fit and I don't plan to go away from the 7psi (stock boost) in the first few months, also, having to do the same thing twice allows me to better understand what I am doing.

Because I am very dumb, and a noob. so bear with me.

What is the orientation I should solder the MAP, reading the datasheet tells me nothing (or I can't read nothing into it, figure out what's Ground, 5v and output to figure out an orientation.

What are the Injectors|N and Injectors |P(B with vertical line on top of it)? I shall only connect the GND and the output that next to eah LED right (i am sure its that, just making sure)

Shall I pass all the grounds trough a common connection before the connectioning them to the board like most of the OEM ecus i rip off junkyards have? I think this makes sense.

masterkorp, see this thread for MAP and AAP trace corrections before soldering on the on-board MAP or AAP sensors: viewtopic.php?p=34891#p34891

The "U?" designations denote where pin #1 is on each IC on the Jaguar boards.
