Half of my Jaguar wiring and config setup is almost done! :-D That's 18 wires in two groups of 9 providing:

Group closer to the switch:
  • 1 power feed for LEDs and the HSD FET
  • 1 HSD accessory FET (fuel pump relay or vtec, yo)
  • 3 LSD accessory FETs (ditto, but boost/idle, plus 2 more)
  • 4 channels of ignitor driver ICs (2 shared with FETs)
Group further from the switch:
  • 4 channels of fuel injector FETs (2 shared with ignitor driver ICs)
  • 4 ground feeds for the injector FETs
  • 1 ground feed for 3 aux FETs
And, of course, the switch swaps inputs and outputs for HSD/LSD for fuel pump relay and accessory use.

This is now suitable for plugging into my bench test rig and verifying output functionality with bench test firmware.

Nice. I like the loom through grommets idea. Looks easy to reconfigure for other projects in the future. Can't decide on a connectivity solution for my jaguar.

There is a modular plug system that is available that snaps together on the x and y axis, you can make any size matrix you need as they are stackable male/female on the same piece. Glue together for final plug/socket.

RPM input configuration switches mounted and keyed. Need to pull them out, set their height, and wire them up, now.

For case opening I can unscrew the nuts and let the switches fall through as I lift away the case. Should be easy enough to pull them up/through when putting the cover on.

I released that I had a few problems... and solved them, but not as nicely as I'd have liked...

You can't pull end plate off first AND top off first... so nuts can't be inside and lid must be able to lift up past the cables.

Solution, leave cable holes open as Us instead of Os. Solder a beam across the heads of the screws so the nuts can go on the outside and nothing is needed on the inside at all.

Allows the end to come off completely AND the top to come off completely independently.

MAP and AAP hose holes also drilled, not how I want it, but good enough.

Also got some more cables soldered to the Jag board ready for switch and connector integration. Tomorrow it may be complete! :-D

beautiful shots! When you complete your custom build, could you post a summary of the mods you made here in text form, GIT doesnt work on my XP computer...You da man Fred!

Thanks, I take care to take nice photos for things like this. Not always perfect, but usually reasonable, at least. Check out the speaker build thread :-) Quite a few pages of pics in there.

It's not really modified much.
  • external LED circuit mod for CEL/load setup as in 0.7-alpha
  • LEDs for ignition channels as in 0.7-alpha
  • 1 HSD as in 0.7-alpha
  • switchable fuel pump output from hsd to lsd and vice versa with the balance on a PWM pin (trivial in 0.7-alpha, not needed for a single install setup)
  • Configurable hall/opto vs VR via switches as in diagram above (a bit of a pain, and not needed for a single install setup)
That's about it. The rest is bone stock.

The change for CEL LED externalisation is pretty simple:

IE, swap resistor and LED so that external 5V supply is protected (by the resistor) and align the 4 pins for LED and load header such that a 4 pin header/socket can be used there rather than components.
