Making progress, which is unlike me. ;) I have successfully stimulated the JAG with a JimStim (hooked up as below.) Logged data, review in OLV and played in EMSstudio (Win7 VM on the mac.) Only hiccup is figuring out my constant IAT @ 20.

JAG --- JIMSTIM
CAM+ --- 2ND TRIGGER
CRANK+ --- TACH
IAT --- MAT
CHT --- CLT
O2 --- O2
TPS --- TPS
TPS-5v --- 5V

Rob, this is my fault/Hentai's fault. I fucked up the merge of his config and it had hard coded 20C, so sorry! New firmware in dev branch on build server has this fixed, grab one and load it up. :-)

Got it. Loaded it. All is good. Next step is a case. Considering the Miata's stock case since I have a spare ecu. Then it would just plug in to the OE harness. Have an old spare harness to for bench work if necessary.

Good to hear you are making progress.
Installation inside of a factory ECU is one of the reasons I wanted the Jaguar PCB to be the size it is.
Eventually I will replace the boards in my spare S10 ECU with a Jaguar PCB. :-)
I am part of the way through my plan of replacing the internal boards with my Jaguar, I have to figure out if the factory gauges depend on the ECU for providing them with the correct signals to operate.

Thanks for the update :-)

Congrats on the good signal! Looking forward to miata case + jag, should be a good fit. Keep us posted :-)

Turns out the OE ecu I had was for a newer Miata so it won't work. But somebody on the local forum offered up one so I'm set. Any mandatory considerations for mounting the board inside this OE case? I have picked up some PCB rails that I was going to mount on some aluminum angle inside the case. The JAG board would slide in on these rails so the map sensor and usb ports would align to holes drilled in the rear of the case. I was going to then anchor U2 & U3 to case with drilled/tapped holes. Is that adequate for heat control? I was also going to anchor the board in the rail at the other end using some plastic screws (or metal with an isolator/cushion/stop) from the top of the rail down onto the board, or through the rail just past the end of the board.

The rails sound OK as long as they are only 1/16" (1.6 mm) deep. This is due to the components located close to the long edge of the board along with 12vdc and 5vdc traces near the same edges.

If you mount the voltage regulator tabs to the case, be sure to use either silicone or mica isolator pads to prevent the CPU or Analog Power supply ground (via the voltage regulator tabs) from being grounded to your case. On my Jaguar A2 prototype I used a 3/4" x 1" folded aluminum alloy heatsink and ran the S10 a couple of hundred miles without heat dissipation issues since we aren't drawing a full 0.5A from each voltage regulator.

I'll end up reducing the rail channel depth to fit the board. I just want to make sure that I have sufficient heat transfer with the silicon thermo pad and the case. The OE case is around 1.5mm cast aluminum. I noticed that regulators were not hot during bench testing. Also the OE ecu mounts inside the car.

The voltage regulators should not get hot, especially the 5v CPU regulator, even with an external MAP sensor (like I'm using on my S10), so it should not be an issue. I had my Jaguar A2 mounted inside the factory ECU case that sits on the passenger fender in the engine compartment and I didn't have a heat related issue, even running only one voltage regulator in a worst case scenario.
