Wouldn't this be a noisy environment when the injectors are firing? Not sure if this would be a good idea for a prototyping area.
I didn't mean an official one. I meant home brew style, much like my digital input stuff that I have above the CPU. Just noting the large blank space there. And, with a solid ground plane under it, I doubt there'd be much noise.

I do need to re-visit the size of all the solder pads, so there should be some space saving changes as these are re-sized.
I meant footprints, btw, pads seem mostly OK as is.
Fred wrote:Could put vias on all of the dpak pads and cut around the vias on the other side. Not really necessary though. They won't get hot unless shorted.
I will give this some additional consideration.
Probably a worse idea than not doing it due to lack of heat possible.
The SMD XOR is smaller that the DIP XOR chip, but we are using a chip with the largest number of gates (4 gates) that I can find.
OK.
Note that two of the unused gates on the chip have their inputs tied to +5v.
Why? OK, I know why. But what I mean is, how about some pads so that they can be used for buffered inputs/outputs?
I have already moved the components for the MAP input around so that the diodes, capacitors and the resistor are not under the on-board sensor.
Is this pushed? Didn't notice it fly by. Curious as to what you've done.

Ah, ok :-)

I could make the diode footprint for the 1N4148TA a bit smaller.

Wow, that sentence went in a circle...

That sounds like a good idea :-)

The MAP input changes were completed as of Jaguar/dev hash: e34fd8be86214a16735834fee4bde7714db468be

Jaguar/dev (A4) commit 6cbf1607161bcd6b9763c27b80840be76475198a has the new smaller footprint for the 1N4148TA diodes. I also moved the injector LEDs, the diodes and their resistors closer to the MOSFETs and moved P26 (Injector outputs) to the edge of the board instead of between the LEDs and the MOSFETs.

See the changes at: https://github.com/DeuceEFI/Jaguar/tree/dev
You will need KiCAD installed to open the files.

A4 is not the final revision. A4 is the next revision. So much change has gone into A4 that it will definitely have issues and need another run through with subtle changes only. Plus, nothing is final about any FreeEMS hardware for some months to come as the firmware stabilises.

I'll reply to Andy's posts later.

Don't even try to compare FreeEMS with MS, it's not comparable in any way shape or form.

I strongly doubt that you'll see an SD slot on Jaguar. FreeEMS can be logged with a simple external device, though, so it's not a priority. Someone already did this at a motorsport event.

Bluetooth can be easily hacked into a jag in place of the stock USB. I don't think it belongs as stock, though.

I don't want compare freeEMS to MS just know all the possibilities of freeEMS and present them in a board like linked below ;)
