Make sure you have the output of the reg disconnected from the CPU before testing it.

Also, use a 9v or current limit your 12v with a resistor in case of fault.

I tried using EMStudio with no success. Got to get with deuce or fred later.
I take it the board doesn't have firmware on it and thats why emstudio can't read it and gets stopped and fails.
I bet if I knew how I could test better communications.
