The board may have some parasitic capacitance. This could mean that you need less than the manufacturer recommends. Though, I found it worked fine with 15- 30pf on my random crystal. I don't think that they're THAT touchy, though yours might be.

Good move on USBDM

my finding today:

1st jaguar board :
- load caps changed to 18pF -- no effect
- changed crystal to another brand with same 18pF -- no effect
- Hiwave still able to read MCU memory but the connection is not stable
- not able unsecure MCU

2nd jaguar board :
- connection is better, 50% chance able to connect with ack sync speed.
- can unsecured MCU with a low speed 10.3xMhz with the original 22pf load cap
- loaded s19 SM to MCU but not yet tested.

3rd board still not completed soldering, will get it done and test again by weekend.

i believe my cheap TBDML is bad one.

now a new USBDM under shipping to my office

Hi Kennybug

What is the part number of the micro that is used on the USBDM? I would like to know if I can update the software on it.

I was going to do that. But at that price and if it is the same thing it might be easier to just buy one.
