Dan's Jaguar PCB Build
Re: Dan's Jaguar PCB Build
Reports from IRC sound good, however you should be verifying SM first, not firmware. And, you need to look at the wave forms with an LA to see if the optos are worth a damn. Also, get a reliable power supply, eg cordless drill battery, wallwart or SLA. All fit on your couch, however, I'm sad to say, none of them provide the energizer effect.

Re: Dan's Jaguar PCB Build
OK changed all four opto resistors to smaller ones (1k). These are R56, R59, R60 and R61.
I used a terminal program to send the serial monitor open comms files and viola I got a response of 3! YAY!
I then fired up MTX and doh! the thing didnt connect. But there is a current bug reported with MTX connecting to FTDI IC's, so I tried the current EMStudio and...........
BINGO! We have comms! (i think)
Super excited now!

Re: Dan's Jaguar PCB Build
I made up a bridge to GND and bridged the TPS input to GND as it was floating at 100%, brought it down to 0% in EMStudio! Thus, I think I have comms!
Now to take a serial dump and open in OLV to confirm, but I think I am sweet!
FreeEMS FTW!

Re: Dan's Jaguar PCB Build
A good start, but did you read your email and watch the console? That lower window should have 68 entries, not 5.
Congratulations on the progress! :-)
Paste your OLV stats here for a 1 minute log once you sort that stuff out.
Fred.

Re: Dan's Jaguar PCB Build
BTW, if it is really bad, but getting 5% hit rate, perfect for testing EMStudio retry code ;-)

Re: Dan's Jaguar PCB Build
Hey, can you do me a favor... Download this:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysi ... 96647.aspx
And paste the output of my application from that window? That gives you essentially the same output as a linux console would.
You're getting 102 packets per second, which fred says is impossible, plus you're not getting NEARLY enough location ID's.
Also, EMStudio dumps serial comms.... look for the .log files.
Three files, one is Host->device, one is device->host, and one is both combined. Size should tell you which is which.

Solid point, forgot about this. Speaking of which, can you, as a temporary favour for my broken code, rename them to .bin?malcom2073 wrote:Also, EMStudio dumps serial comms.... look for the .log files.
