Good call re the crystal cap size (I had noticed that too but hadn't piped up) and freezer/oven testing. +1

I will test the caps again now that I solved the underlying issues (a few cold solder joints elsewhere around the MCU) that prevented the 20pF caps from working.

Also will test the freezer/warm oven scenarios to see if those temperature extremes cause a failure.
