In searching around the 'Net last night for weather resistant USB connectors and I came across these made by SAMTEC USA (http://www.samtec.com):

The -10- versions below are 28mm (1.102") circular mini USB-B sealed connectors

SCRUS-10-G-00.50-MBS-BC
-00.50 = 0.5m pigtail cable (no end, you solder to PCB)
-MBS = Mini USB-B Female recepticle
-BC = Blunt Cut

SCPU-10-G-02.00-MBS-AM
-02.00 = 2m cable
-MBS = Mini USB-B Female recepticle
-AM = USB A Male connector

The -17- versions below are 42mm (1.65") circular USB-B sealed connectors

SCRUS-17-G-00.50-BMS-BC
-00.50 = 0.5m pigtail cable (no end, you solder to PCB)
-BMS = USB-B Female recepticle
-BC = Blunt Cut

SCPU-17-G-03.00-BMS-AM
-03.00 = 3m cable
-BMS = USB-B Female recepticle
-AM = USB A Male connector

These were just a thought...
They have dust caps for these as well, but no free samples on the dust caps...

I has been mentioned to consider a smaller USB-B connector such as a mini USB-B, so I think I will give the builder the ability to choose either one

I have included both footprints (USB-B and USB-B-Mini) on the PCB so the builder can choose which type of USB connector they would like to use

For the 0.4-alpha design I have replaced the USB-B and USB-B-mini with a USB-B-micro connector. This change allowed the addition of an Ambient Absolute Pressure (AAP) sensor to the PCB.

Woot woot. Great now we got onboard baro sensor.
