Supported Ignition Systems

Andy's GM DIS centric hardware design! Also works as a fuel controller for EDIS and distributor applications.

Supported Ignition Systems

Post by DeuceEFI »

This is the place to discuss the supported ignition systems for Jaguar.

Edit: 01-24-21012

Current supported ignition systems are GM DIS Wasted Spark, GM Electronic Advance High Energy Ignition (HEI).

It has been suggested to find out what it would take to run Ford EDIS as well and I am currently researching that information.

Wow, you're fast! I just wanted to test to see that I could create a topic and you found it before I could edit it :-)

From my research it appears that the Ford EDIS is very similar to the setup for the GM DIS system...

EDIS doesn't need the 5vdc DIS-Bypass output from the XOR chip to tell the module the engine is running.
EDIS only needs one input, use the CRANK+ input and don't connect the CRANK-, CAM+ or CAM- inputs.

Yep, that's what I thought, too easy :-)

BTW, you should add that it's suitable for direct drive wasted spark on a 4 cylinder with sequential fueling if using a dumb external ignitor and a suitable set of inputs.

Duly noted, I will add it to the documentation :-)
