From wrong to right in just 10 days :-)
The screen shots look cool :-) You should do a video screen capture of the animation in 3d and youtube it :-)
If you don't mind, I will officially facebook those PNGs now and tell the story of how it got there. How long did you spend on it before you posted, btw?
A few more thoughts:
MOV on power input?
mini USB to save space and because they're way more common.
If you follow both you'll have room :-)

Re: Project JAGuar for FreeEMS
It helps that my degree is in Electronics Engineering, but I've been a Network Engineer for the better part of my professional life, so I'm a little rusty... but it is coming back fastFred wrote:From wrong to right in just 10 days

Sure, I don't mind, they will also be up on my facebook page later on...Fred wrote:If you don't mind, I will officially facebook those PNGs now and tell the story of how it got there. How long did you spend on it before you posted, btw?

I have been working on the coupe since October 2009, I bought the MS-2 to experiment and learn (plus drive the chassis in and out of the garage while you were writing code on the train in the UK and have been watching all the youtube videos everyone has created. I have been formulating my PCB since around the time Marcos started with Puma, I missed out on getting in on a Puma board (which was probably Karma looking out for me) LOL...
I have been working on learning about how the trials and tribulations have gone with the various Puma builds and thought that I could contribute a smaller design for Hot Rod people like me (my truck is a 1950 GMC 100 which is fuel injected as well, but running a Chevrolet ECU for now)
I have only been working on the KiCAD drawings since this past Christmas while on vacation from work. I built a Reflow Soldering Oven before starting on the Jaguar drawings...
I will take a look at adding the MOV's as it is a good idea, it just slipped my mind when I was creating the schematicsFred wrote:A few more thoughts:

Fred.

I have samples coming from SAMTEC.com of their mini USB-B weather resistant connectors that would mount in the end panel rather than on the PCB directly. Check out their SCRUS-10 line...
I have been toying with the idea of mini-USB-B connectors rather than the full size piece I have on the PCB now, I even have some in my parts bins, so that could be a change here in the next couple of commits/pushes

Re: Project JAGuar for FreeEMS
If you have some way of uploading the video files (not megaupload LOL, another mega fail LOL) I can give them an edit and put them on the official channel. Which reminds me, I need to edit and upload the mini and slater vids too. Thanks :-) As soon as I figure out how, I will definately put it on youtube, plus I want to show my coupe running on FreeEMS, it will be good press for all of us!
LOL, damn lurkers, watching and waiting and saying nothing while I toiled away :-)I have been working on the coupe since October 2009, I bought the MS-2 to experiment and learn (plus drive the chassis in and out of the garage while you were writing code on the train in the UK and have been watching all the youtube videos everyone has created.
LOL/cry :-) It pisses me off because it reflects on the rest of us, which is not cool. I'll be much tougher on future projects that derail themselves and/or fade out and become unloved. Mark my words.I have been formulating my PCB since around the time Marcos started with Puma, I missed out on getting in on a Puma board (which was probably Karma looking out for me) LOL...
Yes, something with a case and connector is a good start :-)I have been working on learning about how the trials and tribulations have gone with the various Puma builds and thought that I could contribute a smaller design for Hot Rod people like me (my truck is a 1950 GMC 100 which is fuel injected as well, but running a Chevrolet ECU for now)
So nothing to a complete design in just over a month. Nice work sir! :-)I have only been working on the KiCAD drawings since this past Christmas while on vacation from work. I built a Reflow Soldering Oven before starting on the Jaguar drawings...
It's not essential, but it's a nice thing to do if you're going KISS with the power supply. Ravage is yet to have her power supply specced out.I will take a look at adding the MOV's as it is a good idea, it just slipped my mind when I was creating the schematics
I think that it's a good decision, however it's your decision, so I'll keep my nose out.I have been toying with the idea of mini-USB-B connectors rather than the full size piece I have on the PCB now, I even have some in my parts bins, so that could be a change here in the next couple of commits/pushes :-)

I feel the same way, I should have my documents in draft form here in the next few days, then after that I will consider etching a test board

Re: Project JAGuar for FreeEMS
Ok, I have created a schematic and an adapter board so I can use the TE Connectivity AMPSEAL 35 position connector with my 3"x5" extruded aluminum case. While not truly plug-n-play, all you have to do is run connector wires from the Jaguar PCB to the adapter board. I will create a document that tells exactly where to run the wires to, just so no one is left guessing.
I also plan on designing an adapter board that would connect via the pin array headers shown in the 3D views with the mating female receptacles on the adapter board. This will be for the TE Connectivity Super Seal 1.0mm 34 position header if/when it arrives...
The AMPSEAL adapter board is now in my Jaguar repository in the connector directory.

What's left till we build one? :-)
This would be good for Sean's LT1 if he keeps the LTCC in use. He doesn't want to, though. I don't understand why. Each to their own.

I'm ready to home etch the first one to try it out if we are good with the schematicsFred wrote:What's left till we build one?

I think it's time for Preston and Dan and maybe pas940 and TonyS and lumpensack2003. All of these people could likely provide some feedback on something that I've missed :-) After that, sure, go ahead :-)

Re: Project JAGuar for FreeEMS
Cool, for the moment I will only print to paper to check component spacing and make sure the ground planes don't touch my case
