Preludelinux TA card build BMW M52B28

Post by preludelinux »

here are some of the first pictures of my TA card setup. I will be replacing the base TA card adapter board with a board like the sensor board. These boards can be stacked!

Cranking test circuit. this is the simple circuit i have been using for my TA card to gather cranking logs or at least try .....

The crank sensor gets its power from the engine harness +12 Volts ( this would be dirty voltage )

one +5 volt power supply is connected
the signal is pulled up using a 1k resistor connected to +5Volts
The TA card connects portT0 > 100k > ground
the TA card connects portT0 > 1K > buffer > crank sensor n pull up

+12V connection to power supply
power ground is connected to power supply round
crank ground is connected to ground near sensor connects to ground line on board
nothing else is connected

appeared to work on the jimstim ... ( which is a first )

Moving on my new setup will be in the PDF below. The new conditioning board should solve my problems with sync and simplifies crank and cam circuits. Basicly this includes
  • Crank and Cam layout
  • coil/ignitor layout
  • Injector layout ( uses jag board circuit )
  • Sensors ( based on Ravage )
ToDo
  • Fan and Fuel pump (use jag/Ravage circuits)
  • Vanos (a fan type circuit would work perfect its simple on/off on@1500 off@5000)
  • IAC (3-wire Iac low peroirity)
  • Tach output .. replace the stock tach only hits 5or6k rpm
  • I'm Sure im forgetting something
Things are simplified.

But, but, but, all of the boards are empty! lol :-)

I look forward to you getting it to run on that!

Empty is good that means i can add more later.

Trying a very modular approach.
  • might have 3 more boards
ignitor board and case with sep ground
    slc oem board and case
of course I have the tiny max board
I have placed 7x vpn's and 1x reg so far
  • 3x for injectors (2 on each)
1x fan ( need to complete ecu side )
1x fuel pump (need to complete complete ecu side )
2x for 3 wire IAC (no thought of cpu side and to be done after car is running )
    1x reg for power supply
Making everything from scratch is not so easy but im learning as i go.

Future things ~
  • Add Maf sensor circuit
Add tech circuit (this might get built before being done)
