If you create a little balance tube setup between the runners and feed the map from that
That is going to be a bit of a pain. I would have to take the manifold off and drill and tap a new hole. I will play with the code first and maybe do the balance pipe later.

Sure, just take two readings on 6 and then take every second one once you know which is lower, no big deal.

I don't like it, though, it's dirty. :-)

I plan to go to Pick-a-Part today (Scrap yard) and find a IAT sensor. Are there any recommendations on what type or brand I should look out for?

Also were should I try to mount the sensor?

Yep, GM, hyundai, or was it daewoo? Not toyota, not mazda, anything with an open element, a little cage on the end where you can see the sensor itself. The bad ones are solid plastic with high thermal inertia.

Mounting near the front of the car with good air flow, away from radiators, exhaust manifolds, engines, close to air filters. If your setup has no CAI setup like an OEM japper does then you might want to experiment. It won't matter much until you go fuel anyway.

Thanks. What about mounting it in the air filter?

Post an aerial shot of your engine bay and I'll tell you what I think :-)

If you're avoiding radiation, and giving it good external fresh air air flow, then you're likely doing OK.

Grab a few and mount one on the front bumper so that you know what ambient is too. Then you can see how well you're doing/not doing.
