Re: SLC DIY Wideband Controller with EGT and more!
Never tried them, is there something in particular about them that makes them good for noise, ESR, Q, etc? What is the ball park price, and are they the same size as normal electrolytic caps for the same Capacitance and voltage rating? How is the life one them?
Re: SLC DIY Wideband Controller with EGT and more!
They were samples, similar size to electrolytic, I did not price them, they sort of act like large value tantalums. This is probably as good a source as any for information http://www.vishay.com/capacitors/aluminum/related

Better, Jim. For the record, I agree with the general sentiment that "caps are a hack fix" just as I don't like the recommendation from B&G to put an audio power filter betwen a MS box and the battery... fail. That doesn't relegate using more cap by educated choice as being a hack though. Your second approach came across much better in that regard, mostly.
