It's a pricey little sucker isn't it! Good margin for B&G there, I would think.

I wonder if this DIYPNP setup is the first M$ hardware solution that isn't broken in terms of grounding and power? Can anyone confirm that the ground traces in the micro board are separate? It would be highly ironic and very fitting if the first non broken MS was designed by someone other than B&G! :-)

Thanks for the links! :-)

Hmmm, wonder where they got the idea of a modular design. Oh yeah, there was a guy that posted about it on thier forums, just before being banned.

I probably should have coppied the posts, but eh. They might still be out there in the ether, but last I knew they had deleted all records of me, so it's likely lost.

Now available from DIYautotune http://www.diyautotune.com/catalog/micr ... p-381.html (some think the TA card is expensive)

I assume they won’t allow sharing or supporting user main board designs on the MS forums. Should DIYEFI.org have a sub-forum for microsquirt module based designs?

To be fair, the TA board has no high current drivers on board and is 2 layer only. Still, you are right that there is good profit margin in them. It certainly is a commercial venture, not a community project despite where the work actually gets done.

I'll be interested to see whether you are right about the board design stuff. The idea of it is for that, so one must assume that they will allow it. Then again, we all know what Lance is like. Perhaps someone should put a question up on that forum asking about the rules regarding that for this specific application.

I'm not sure if we need a specific forum for it or not. If we get a lot of threads on that I could make a sub-forum of non-free for it, but for now non-free is sufficient IMO.
