The ironic thing about this is that you heard it here first!!
That's right, this hasn't been posted on ms3efi.com yet LOL

Pretty bad quality videos, get it together James, your fans want to see it more clearly! :-p ;-) :-)

Re: MS3 progress
I'd have to agree the quality is quite poor. I suspect they are "protecting" their IP. It's such a poor quality, I also question if it really is ms3.
Re: MS3 progress
It's probably the XEP100 demo board with some proto board additions. And the code is probably an early version of MS3 code which is based on MS2/extra ported to the new CPU. They most certainly have 8 ignition channels and probably now have 8 sequential injection channels. But that's just speculation.

Re: MS3 progress
Yeah, it's definitely what Jean said, code maketh the product so he's right to call it MS3 IMO. Just like I'm right to call the mess of wires on my desk FreeEMS ;-)
I doubt the vid is bad on purpose. I don't know what James uses, but he needs an upgrade!!
The real question is, why the hell did I manage to post this up here before he did on the other site. It had had 30 views when I got to it. Was it posted on msefi or msextra instead? If so, why?
Just had a nosey on msextra, no posts... Ditto, still no posts on ms3efi about it. I wonder why it's not shared proudly in public in an obvious way?

A couple more old 2007 vids of James running an engine with the XEP100 demo board :-)
A picture of his test rig, looks a lot like mine except he has "flash" plywood instead of cardboard ;-)
Apparently these are the final specs as apparently decided months ago :

I have to say, I've been pushing for high Z and no spark all along LOL. Still, if we manage low Z and spark on board we have something a bit different/more than they do in that respect which could be nice. Also, if ms3 will require Jean's board I'll feel less bad about having low Z on board (though I'm still wary of issues caused by noise from it, but that can be engineered away...)CPU - 144 pin MC9S12XEP100
Single box pre-assembled non-DIY design, likely 3 ampseal connectors, plus USB/serial
8x hi-z fuel
8x logic spark

Re: MS3 progress
While first I was arguing about the whole "software is the product" thing... No matter WHAT they do hardware wise, I don't see the MS3 as being worth checking out based on the MS-II codebase. Period.
Both the hardware and the software have way too many shortcuts and things they knew were wrong but never fixed.
I have to applaud some of the progress they make but still... so much of it needs replacing. I'd rather see a fixed MS-II than something new.

Re: MS3 progress
I don't know about you guys, but to me that screams "model based" which will delay ms3 so long it just won't be funny.right now it is still up in the air what sort of calculations the MS-III will be using.
I could be wrong. I hope if I am and J||K are reading this that they log in and correct me.
