I cannot comment on any others apart from the lc1.
I have never ever had a problem with my two lc1 units. No errors, no fuckups, nothing. They have also always matched the reading on the local dyno's too.
In my experience, +1 for the lc1 from me.

You can't not recommend your own! :-p So I added a vote for Spartan and SLC as well as the down votes for the above four.toalan wrote:I am not going to put any of them on the recommended list, for the do not recommend list I will put down
-BPSX
-NTK AFK
-AEM Controller in a gauge
-Prosport/Glowshift (they are the same company)
One further question, considering we know the Ecotrons unit uses the ASIC and you know the ASIC isn't that great, and we know the people running that company are as dishonest as the day is long, why no down vote for them? :-)

Re: Widebands That You Would or Wouldn't Buy
I have never personally tested the ecotrons stuff so I can not sh*t on them. If anyone has a unit they want to lend me for testing then I would be more than happy to test it and post the results.Fred wrote:You can't not recommend your own! :-p So I added a vote for Spartan and SLC as well as the down votes for the above four.toalan wrote:I am not going to put any of them on the recommended list, for the do not recommend list I will put down

Fair enough! :-)
IMO it'd be a shame to send them any money to do that, and they're not well known at all, so no big deal.

Re: Widebands That You Would or Wouldn't Buy
I'm about to put an Aeroforce Technologies wideband O2 kit to use on my truck. The controller's not marked in any way except to indicate which socket is which and that it's made in Taiwan.
Here are some poorly taken photos:
The main chip is, oddly, something called a Toplus TP-6825. There's also a Microchip MCP4821E and some ST chips. This will be reading a Bosch LS17025. The silkscreen on the top left is TP332-V1.0 and E112804 on the top right.
Can't turn up anything interesting online through English searches. Thoughts?

Re: Widebands That You Would or Wouldn't Buy
My advice, order a reputable one from Alan (cheap as chips and good as gold), send him this one to test and return to you, and if it comes back with a green light, bang it on the solstice.

Re: Widebands That You Would or Wouldn't Buy
I am 95% certain that this is produced by prosport/glowshift (both are the same company). I have 2 of their controllers, it uses the same case, connectors, and button placement as yours. The PCB on mine is different, mine is marked TP332-V2.0.ToxicGumbo wrote:I'm about to put an Aeroforce Technologies wideband O2 kit to use on my truck. Those TP markings are a red herring, they removed the original markings and put on their own markings, no idea why they do stuff like that.
On the controller I have, one of the chips marked TPxxxx is an atmel AVR (IIRC) microcontroller, the other chip marked TPxxx is a bosch CJ125 (could be a CJ110) chip to control the lambda sensor.
On both of the units I have, they both read about 1 AFR richer than lab gas.
Re: Widebands That You Would or Wouldn't Buy
There you go, Jeff, save the postage, sell it, and buy something good :-) That "wideband wizard" title I gave you is certainly fitting! :-)
