Come on guys you're all being a little harsh.
Those are "structural welds" and they need not be pretty.
Fred I don't think those are vias, it looks to be welding splatter. In the likely advent that they are vias then its bound to be a very complex algorithm for reducing ground noise by confusing it.
In Rick's defense the calibration gas was probably used to produce those welds. Rick I've heard Methane works well as a shielding gas, try that next time you weld. Improvement guaranteed!
Credit where credit is due, it produces a range of numbers that vary with RPM (and sometimes without).

Uh oh, I have it, in 720p, and will have to re-host it for him. He must've had his account hacked or something...

I think that is not a real weld but a chemical weld using something like jbweld.
If you search the web and look at his ebay feedback, they are all positive. I still have the nagging question of perhaps it was user error on my part, but since he never responded to my offer of paying extra for a tested plug and play ready unit, I will not know with 100% certainty.
This controller is so bad that I would think that anyone who uses it in an actual engine will notice that it is crap, but no one notices.

Don't be silly, JBWeld is a quality product, and that is clearly not! :-ptoalan wrote:I think that is not a real weld but a chemical weld using something like jbweld.

I would know about going under 5v as I set the alarm off on mine in the datalog for lower then 5v under cranking.Fred wrote:Definitely jealous about the dancing thing. LOL @ 10V, FreeEMS is good down to (below?) 6V, possibly as low as 5V if you're uber lucky.
Fred.

You hit ~5.412V (assuming it was calibrated or you used 0.1% resistors)

Rick just replied to the email I sent in may (he said they were changing over email servers and something happened to my email) , and he is sending a prewired and pretested unit to me to retest with my lab gas.
When I get it I will retest and post the results.
Regards,
Alan To
