Megasquirt 3 Pins Bridged together.

I'm wondering if anybody knows why some megasquirt boards seem to have several pins bridged together, and others only have a few.
In this picture pins 36&37(PE6 & PE7), 43&44(VDDR & VSS3), 85&86(VRL & VSSA1), and 94&95(PS5 & PS6) seem to be bridged.
Pin 96 might also be tied into 94&95, or maybe it's just flux I can't tell.
In this picture it looks like only pins 85&86 are together.
It's possible that there are traces between those pins, but it seems odd. I'm pretty sure that you should never tie a VDD and a VSS together(unless maybe it fries something that makes it impossible to load a new serial monitor or something), but no matter how many times I count it I come up with the same pin numbers. I doubt that tieing some pins together would have any real effect if they aren't using those pins for anything.
EDIT:
I was counting off of the wrong corner.
