The resistor isn't working then?

Anyone care to explain this? I think I have the solution but I am looking for feedback from others.
I think we need more info. This could be cause by RC filters causing physical delay, software latency, math errors, ect. We really need more info to be able to help iron out a detail like that. The calibration technique may be a patch to a different bug, or it may be the required solution, hard to say with out more detail.

HOODEY, is this an open source solution with a freeems compatible license? If so, publish a code repositiory (preferably git) and if not, the discussion really belongs in another forum section (non-free). If it is FOSS, having the repo would enable others to help you test and diagnose a LOT easier...

Resistor worked fine.

All had to do with how I understood the Nissan optical wheel. What I thought is TDC is not.

A series resistor (if that's what was added) shouldn't have worked. There are some other hardware/firmware/peripheral/port issues.

Is this a FOSS design, as Fred was asking?

Its not free. What is really the purpose of the weak pull up?

Each of the PORTB pins has a weak internal pull-up. A
single control bit can turn on all the pull-ups. This is performed
by clearing bit RBPU (INTCON2<7>). The
weak pull-up is automatically turned off when the port
pin is configured as an output. The pull-ups are
disabled on a Power-on Reset.

If it's not free, you should probably start a thread in the non-free section and stop taking this thread off topic. I can move the related posts over for you if you like.

HOODEY, this thread is NOT for advertisements! You just joined an elite and small group of people who have had their posts removed. If you want to talk about your closed source diy product, put it in non-free. If it's not diy, consider another forum.

Reposting will NOT serve you well.
