Still lots to do, but it runs!

Congratulations! Great to have another brother in the FreeEMS family.

Also, nice job with the OEM ECU case fitment. Looks slick.

The car is running and officially driving, though hardly tuned. Took it for 5 miles in stop and go traffic, full sun, Atlanta summer heat @ 96f. Essentially untuned. No drama. Posts to follow on how I arrived at this drive.

Created a new dipstick/tube and water pump mixing manifold. Had to move the dipstick forward to make room for the wastegate dump pipe. The wp manifold makes a 90 and runs directly over the AC compressor to avoid the AC compressor belt/tensioner.

Used a Volvo cooling fan circuit/relay with a fat ballast resistor to run my Spal 16" 2800cfm fan a two speeds- low for engine cooling and high for engine cooling + AC. FWIW I picked up two of these volvo fans (swept blade 16" 3000cfm Seimens) with full wiring harness including relays at pull-a-part for <$40 US. Unfortunately the volvo fan is just too thick to fit in the Miata engine bay without rearranging the sway bar mounts.

Fab'd up an AC bracket to mount an 04 Miata/RX8 AC compressor to the FE3. Bracket and compressor weigh more than 10 lbs less than the original Miata pair.

Started with a factory bracket and cut like this:

Made this with some aluminum plate:

Final mounting with tensioner:

Modified the stock Miata AC lines with cutting/brazing/adding RX8 fittings to build custom lines:
