Fred's "Hotel Hyundai" 1988 Stellar! (3rd)
Re: Fred's "Hotel Hyundai" 1988 Stellar! (3rd)
Kit built and mostly installed, priming pulse suddenly massive, but still no fuel while cranking! Need to resolve this. I guess either a relay feed or power to the injectors is off while cranking? The fuel pump is definitely on and humming the entire time. Too cold, too late, will have to try to solve tomorrow, and if not, revert to resistor.

Wrong wrong and wrong. I verified that I as wrong, started thinking and CLICK, it's the unpublished hack I run on the hotel not handling fueling at all. Resistors likely would have been fine. Fail. So then, a day of software and tuning and configuration and such.

Running from source-built S19 now :-D No more corner of big table tuning. Whole 16x16 tables for all three main parts. Hack gone. Hot start == factory like fast. Cold start = OK. Also got wifi working on the tooner laptop. And bumped up the idle slightly to make it more reliable when at lights/carparks/etc. Still got lots to do, but this is a great start :-D
Fixed an interior panel with JBWeld too. JBPerf and JBWeld on the same weekend! Win.
New list coming soon.

Re: Fred's "Hotel Hyundai" 1988 Stellar! (3rd)
Hack updated and tested, started 10 times in a row, mint. What's next?
WOF at least. viewtopic.php?p=38236#p38236
New TPS code.
MAP sampling hacks.
Staged injection code.
Shorten/tidy the loom.
Fix high side driver and test fp relay code IF I can find legit parts that need reversed logic.
Maybe swap in a modern coil if I can be bothered.
Tidy up all of the cable tied and half-arse work done up until now so it's reliable in future.
New IAT and maybe a hose for CAI :-D
Who knows.

Just curious, why change the code on TPS signal ?
Changing the supply wires gives the same result.

Re: Fred's "Hotel Hyundai" 1988 Stellar! (3rd)
WOF work has been going slowly... nearly midnight here, only came inside after 10:30, working on car ALL weekend, no time for ANYTHING else...
Left to do:
1)free up seatbelts, drivers retracts lazily, rear one on same side is mal-aligned and needs some clearance adding
2)De-rust around boot lid and lower rear window
3)Smooth up and coat over the weld marks around front windscreen that Presto had just buried in tar :-D
4)Rust-kill the bumper steel
5)Underseal the bumper
6)strip brackets, paint all of it
7)reassemble and install bumper
8)Put a tin of smoke stop in it
9)Remove bracket from around exhaust that is rattling like a mofo
TAKE IT FOR A WOF :-D
And once it has one of those, I get to work on this again: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=16 yay! :-D Currently in use as a work bench for HOTEL reparations.
Tomorrow before I come home I need to pick up some more rust killer liquid, as I've nearly run out of my 10 year old supply today.

Tonight's progress:
Reattached VIN plate
Attempted to stop some water leaks
Stripped brackets and rust killed them
Under sealed front of bumper steel
Visited dad in hospital
Tomorrow's tasks:
Coat other side of bumper steel
Zinc prime and overcoat brackets
Reassemble front end completely
Visit dad again

Bumper is fully back together as of tonight. Just need to bolt it on and before that, clean up the sway bar. THE CAR WILL LOOK NORMAL AGAIN! Yay! :-)
